Choose to sponsor one or more coral fragments that have been collected from the Great Barrier Reef. These fragments represent an individual species, and your support is needed for their ongoing care and maintenance. Your fragment number will be sent to you, and you will be updated on what species your coral is, where it was collected, the environmental conditions from the wild, and its growth and health information as it grows.
Ongoing support allows us focus on our mission, wholeheartedly. Any amount you can offer helps, and it all adds up to help safeguard the biodiversity of corals worldwide.
Perfect for corporate sponsors or large donors, you can sponsor a complete state of the art life support system capable of storing and maintaining fragments representing 20 different species from the Great Barrier Reef. All information regarding the holding tank will be sent to you, and you will be updated on what species you are keeping, where they were collected, the environmental conditions from the wild and how they are replicated in this system, and the growth and health information of all fragments as they grow.
Getting out to the Great Barrier Reef can be expensive, but with your support, we can collect our corals one day at a time. During these single day expeditions, we can collect up to 35 species, and have them stored, fragmented and chipped ready to go into the Living Coral Biobank tanks by nightfall. All information regarding the expedition will be sent to you, and you will be updated on what species we collected, where they were collected, the environmental conditions from the wild, and the growth and health information of all fragments as the expedition produced.
Want to come see our team in action and be part of the Living Coral Biobank project? Australian Geographic and Coral Expeditions have sponsored a 10 day expedition to collect corals from the Great Barrier Reef. Come and join us!
Every donation helps us achieve our goal to safeguard the biodiversity of corals worldwide.
